Work Stations

We have been doing work stations three times a week for about 2 weeks. The kids practice letter recognition, number recognition, and counting. They will get more difficult as the year progresses. I have 20 stations and we do 1 or 2 each time.

Roll a letter- MB and CR roll the dice and write the letter on their recording sheet starting at the bottom. The 1st letter to the top is the winner. If they finish fast they continue to see which letter will be next. Soon we will do similar activities with words and sounds.

Add One More- DR and LL each roll a dice and mark the number that is one more on the mat. Whoever gets 4 in a row wins.

JF and JP are counting beads and putting them on a chenille stem. They also count the rectangles and match to the number.

HG and KS are practicing the popcorn words by stringing the letters on chenille stems.

DC and DC count the spiders on the web and record them on the recording sheet.

HM and JG are playing Roll a Letter.

CG and TM are counting pumpkins.

Pumpkin Patch

Last Monday we went to the Johnson's farm. We each took home a pumpkin, pet several animals, decorated cookies, played some games, listened to stories, and went on a hayride. The day started out chilly but warmed up after lunch. I didn't take as many pictures as I usually do.

Who's ever heard of a white turkey.

He's soft, isn't he?
