Donors Choose is a website set up to help teachers fund classroom projects. In Friday's newsletter I asked that no one get me a Christmas gift. In retrospect, it sounds as if I expected one. That is not the case. I often do receive gifts. I would rather you spend your money on something that would benefit the students.
In an earlier post I showed pictures from some of our Work Stations. I posted a project on Donors Choose in November to help cover the cost of making more work station activites. Recently, I received an email stating that $250,000 had been donated and set aside for a donation matching opportunity.
If you are interested please look over the projects at the following web address: http://www.donorschoose.org/we-teach/825425. I am trying to fund the "We Love Workstaions!" one first. The matching code is SPARK, which will be entered when you check out if you choose to make a donation.
Again, this is optional. I do not expect everyone to make a donation. I just thought the matching program was a good opportunity. How often do people give away money?
Thanks,
Miss Moore
On a related note I received word that a reporter from The Knoxville News Sentinel wants to ask me about my Donors Choose project. I haven't spoken to her yet but am interested in finding out more. Hmmm...
